The NEXT 30 Days!

Jan 03 2016

I've been a little preoccupied (another way of saying that i have been really slack with my BLOG!) and i have not kept track of this blog.

2016 has already started - it's the 3rd Jan - but i have been crafting my goals for at least a month. So now i want to share my next 30 days with the internet audience (see image below). But first some background before I get to my NEXT 30 Days!.

I conducted an evaluation of 2015 and rendered my focus down to two main goals:

Health and Well-Being

Financial Independence

Yeah I know, broad goals. But what I did was articulate some simple rituals that will provide the metrics for feedback and have the greatest impact on my life moving forward into the rest of 2016. So, my top 10 rituals that I have committed to are:

  1. Write
  2. Eat food fit for my body
  3. Exercise
  4. Karakia (ritual chants)
  5. Yoga
  6. Meditation
  7. Be mindful and aware of each day
  8. Fast (monthly)
  9. Massage (twice a month)
  10. Teach weekly (at University to my post grad students)
So how did i arrive at my list?

I did an evaluation exercise consisting of the following key questions based around key areas:

A NEW BEGINNING

  1. If you could turn back the clock 12 months, what would you change that will have the greatest impact on your life?
  2. 5 years from now, what wold you like to have achieved?
  3. What were the important lessons from 2015?
  4. What were the biggest challenges from 2015?
LIFE DREAM

  1. How do you want to live?
  2. what type of mindset do you want to have?
  3. what type of person do you want to become?
  4. How do you want to spend the rest of your life?
HOW BIG IS YOUR WORLD? (finish each sentence)

  1. If money wasn't a problem . . .
  2. One thing I want to experience is . . .
  3. I would like people to describe me as . . .
  4. One place i would like to visit is . . .
  5. My life would be better if . . .
  6. I wish i knew how to . . .
  7. If i had the courage i would . . .
  8. If i had the time i would . . .
  9. If i could start over i would . . .
MISSION FOR 2016

  1. What would you attempt to do if you knew that you could not fail?
  2. What will your key strategies be for 2016?
  3. Who are the key people in your life?
  4. Why? Describe what you admire about them
  5. What do you see yourself doing in 20 years from now?
  6. If you could spend one day in the greatest library in the world, with access to any knowledge in the world - what would you study?
  7. If you could spend one day with anyone who has ever lived in the history of the world - who would that be, and what would you talk to them about?
  8. What are ten things that you like to do?
  9. What are your natural talents?
  10. A 6 inch beam lies between 2 sky-scrapers - what or who are you willing to cross that bean for?
The series of questions above is how i arrived at what i wanted to focus on that will impact my life in 2016. I know I haven't detailed what each goal looks like or how i am going to achieve them and measure them - maybe a later blog to come.

But below is a glimpse of what i am going to do for the next 30 days!
